JOB PURPOSE
As a Senior Executive in Risk Management within the Project Management Unit, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing project risks to ensure the successful execution of projects. Your role will involve collaborating with project teams to implement effective risk management strategies and processes, ultimately safeguarding project outcomes and enhancing organizational resilience.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Risk Identification and Assessment:
• Conduct thorough risk identification exercises to identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project objectives, timelines, or deliverables.
• Analyze project scope, requirements, and constraints to assess the likelihood and potential impact of identified risks on project outcomes.
2. Risk Analysis and Prioritization:
• Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis to evaluate the severity and significance of identified risks and prioritize them based on their potential impact and likelihood of occurrence.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop risk registers, risk matrices, and other risk management tools to facilitate risk assessment and prioritization.
3. Risk Mitigation and Control:
• Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified risks.
• Monitor and track the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures, and adjust strategies as necessary to minimize risk exposure and mitigate potential impacts.
4. Risk Monitoring and Reporting:
• Establish mechanisms and processes for ongoing risk monitoring and reporting to track the status of identified risks, monitor risk triggers, and assess emerging risks.
• Prepare regular risk reports, dashboards, and updates for project teams, management, and stakeholders to communicate risk status, trends, and mitigation efforts.
5. Risk Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
• Facilitate risk workshops and meetings with project teams and stakeholders to raise awareness of project risks, solicit input, and foster risk-aware decision-making.
• Communicate risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices to project teams and stakeholders to promote a risk-aware culture and proactive risk management approach.
6. Continuous Improvement and Best Practices:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhancements in risk management practices, tools, and methodologies.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in risk management to inform and enhance organizational risk management capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMI-RMP, CRISC) is a plus.
