JOB PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Senior SAP BW Consultant is to design, develop, and manage advanced SAP Business Warehouse (BW) solutions to enable effective data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role serves as the technical and strategic lead, ensuring seamless integration of data from various SAP and non-SAP systems, optimizing system performance, and delivering high-quality analytical insights.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement SAP BW solutions, including data models, ETL processes, and reporting tools, to meet complex business requirements.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of full-cycle SAP BW projects, including planning, execution, testing, and post-go-live support, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Provide leadership to the SAP BW team, mentoring junior consultants and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Oversee data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from various SAP modules (FI, MM, HR, PS, SD) and external systems into SAP BW.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, process chains, and data loads to ensure efficient and uninterrupted reporting.
  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, ensuring adherence to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for data management.
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver actionable insights through reporting solutions.
  • Drive innovation by researching and implementing new SAP BW functionalities, tools, and technologies (e.g., BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud) to enhance the organization’s data capabilities.
  • Manage and resolve incidents, such as data load failures or reporting issues, providing timely and accurate resolutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP BW with other enterprise applications and ensure data consistency across the organization.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, process flows, and user manuals, to support long-term knowledge retention and continuity.
  • Conduct training sessions for business users and team members to enhance their understanding of SAP BW functionalities and ensure effective utilization of reporting tools.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • SAP Certificate is an added advantage

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in SAP BW, including both project implementation and support roles.
  • Proven experience in managing full-cycle SAP BW projects, from requirement gathering and design to implementation, testing, and post-go-live support.
  • Experienced in leading team of developers and consultants, including mentoring junior team members and managing cross-functional collaboration.
  • In-depth understanding of core SAP modules such as (FI, MM, SD, PS and HR)
  • Hands-on experience in designing and delivering reports from multiple ERP systems, ensuring accurate and consolidated data for analytics.
  • Comprehensive experience in providing SAP BW support by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues such as process chain failures and data inconsistencies.
  • Experience in SAP BW migrations or upgrades, such as transitioning to SAP BW/4HANA.
  • Familiarity with modern analytics tools like SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or other data visualization platforms.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices for maintaining high-quality data models.
