JOB PURPOSE

As a Planning Engineer within the Project Management Department, with a focus on EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning) and EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) projects, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining project schedules to ensure timely and efficient execution of projects. Your role will be pivotal in coordinating with various stakeholders to optimize project timelines, resource allocation, and critical path activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Project Planning and Scheduling:
• Develop detailed project plans and schedules for EPCIC/EPCC projects, incorporating all phases from engineering and procurement to construction, installation, and commissioning.
• Utilize project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) to create and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and contractual requirements.


2. Critical Path Analysis:
• Conduct critical path analysis to identify key project activities, milestones, and dependencies that impact project timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to optimize the critical path and minimize schedule risks.


3. Resource Allocation:
• Coordinate with project managers and resource managers to allocate resources (e.g., personnel, equipment, materials) effectively to project tasks and activities.
• Ensure resource availability and utilization are optimized to meet project schedule requirements.


4. Schedule Monitoring and Control:
• Monitor project progress against the established schedule, track actual vs. planned performance, and identify deviations or delays.
• Implement corrective actions and adjustments to the schedule as needed to mitigate risks and ensure project milestones are achieved.


5. Risk Management:
• Identify potential schedule risks and uncertainties that may impact project execution, such as scope changes, resource constraints, or procurement delays.
• Work with project teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address schedule risks proactively.


6. Stakeholder Communication:
• Provide regular updates on project schedule status, progress, and key milestones to project teams, management, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers to communicate schedule-related issues, impacts, and mitigation strategies effectively.


7. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of project schedules, progress reports, and schedule-related documentation.
• Generate schedule performance reports and analysis to support project reviews, meetings, and decision-making processes.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in project management software tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
 Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices, including scheduling techniques and critical path analysis.
 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret project data, identify trends, and propose solutions to schedule-related challenges.
 Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
 Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail in project scheduling and documentation.
 Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
3-5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with a focus on EPCIC/EPCC projects within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or related industries.
