JOB PURPOSE

The DevOps Lead will be responsible for structuring and leading the transformation of a traditional application development team into a high-performing, fully integrated DevOps team. This role will involve the introduction of modern DevOps methodologies, frameworks, and tools, while overseeing the delivery of business-critical projects and requirements. The DevOps Lead will drive the upskilling of the team, ensuring they have the technical capabilities to manage complex infrastructure, development pipelines, and cloud environments. This role requires a strong leader with a solid background in DevOps principles and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leadership and Team Development

Lead, mentor, and upskill the DevOps team, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision and goals. Build a high-performing culture, fostering collaboration and innovation.

 

DevOps Strategy and Transformation

Develop and implement the transformation strategy to shift from a traditional application DevOps model to a fully integrated and automated DevOps environment, incorporating agile practices and modern tools.

 

DevOps Methodology and Framework

Define, implement, and govern DevOps best practices, processes, and frameworks (including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation). Ensure adherence to DevOps principles across all levels of development and operations.

 

Tool Implementation and Optimization

Evaluate, introduce, and integrate new DevOps tools and technologies (e.g., cloud platforms, CI/CD tools, monitoring tools, containerization). Ensure the team's tools and infrastructure are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.

 

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

Work closely with internal business stakeholders, IT leadership, and other technical teams to define requirements, priorities, and timelines. Ensure smooth delivery of projects and new business requirements.

 

Cloud and Infrastructure Management

Lead cloud infrastructure management, especially in AWS and Microsoft services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of DevOps environments.

QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in DevOps, IT infrastructure, or software engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven track record in building, transforming, and leading DevOps teams in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), CI/CD tools, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience working with low-code/no-code platforms, particularly Microsoft PowerApps, and integration with DevOps workflows is highly desirable.
